Last Drop is a funk band... a funk band thatll play almost anything, from jazz to blues to some latin-sounding grooves. Thats because the band is comprised of four guys who can get into any type of music... as long as its funky.
John Matthies and Jim Watkins met at a Seattle-area high school, where they studied jazz and the fine art of covering Jimi Hendrix tunes. Ten years later, they met vocalist and Yakima native E. Weary on a soul/r&b project put together by producer Fred Larkins (a mutual friend). Rhode Island transplant and funky drummer Bob Altman joined the band, then known as E. Weary and the Groove Syndicate, two years later. During that time, we performed at clubs like the Ballard Firehouse, Ruperts, Loxstock, Nikos Place and a few local music festivals. After a brief hiatus, the band resurfaced as Last Drop at the EMP SkyChurch in January of 2001. Click below to learn more...
