	At age 14, Jim decided he wanted to play bass in his high school jazz ensemble, which was strange, because at the time, he was a saxophone player who'd never picked up a bass before. Since there were no other candidates, he got the job. Since then he's been moderately successful at trying to emulate the playing styles of Christian McBride, Ray Brown, Jaco Pastorius, John Pattitucci, Bootsy Collins and Flea.
